From 2026, following the decision of the editorial board of the Ulul Albab Journal, the journal will transition its focus from material subjects, which previously centred on social issues, to contemporary issues, particularly developments in modern science and technology, while continuing to prioritise an Islamic legal approach. This change aims to address the gap in critical analysis regarding the rapid advancements in science and technology over the past few years, particularly from the perspective of religious values, specifically Islamic law. By integrating Islamic legal thought with scientific and technological research, Ulul Albab seeks to produce knowledge that is not only academically rigorous but also transformative, visionary, and beneficial for future generations.

The journal received Sinta 2 (Level 2) accreditation from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education on 26 September 2019, with accreditation number 28/E/KTP/2019. To enhance the journal's quality, both in terms of article content and governance, Ulul Albab established a partnership with the Association of Indonesian Islamic Family Lecturers (PDHKI) on 28 November 2019. Currently, the journal holds Sinta 1 (Level 1) accreditation, Decision No. 295/C/C3/KPT/2026, from the Indonesian Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology. It should be noted that Sinta 1 accreditation in Indonesia represents the highest level of recognition and evaluation of journal governance and the high quality of article content.

In its latest edition, Ulul Albab has implemented various improvements to enhance the journal's accreditation standards. These include increasing the number of editors from various countries and institutions, the implementation of a reference manager for citations and bibliographies, a policy whereby every article is reviewed by two reviewers, and a change in the template to standard A4 paper size. In response to the high volume of article submissions, Ulul Albab has also increased the number of articles published to eight.
