Ulul Albab: Jurnal Studi dan Penelitian Hukum Islam (JUA) is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Sharia, Faculty of Islamic Religion, Sultan Agung Islamic University (UNISSULA) Semarang. It is published biannually, in April and October.

Starting in 2026, following the outcomes of the editorial board meeting of the Ulul Albab Journal, the journal will shift its focus from material objects previously centred on social issues to contemporary issues, particularly modern scientific and technological developments, while continuing to prioritise an Islamic legal approach. This change aims to address the gap in critical analysis regarding the rapid advances in science and technology in recent years, especially from the perspective of religious values, particularly Islamic law. By integrating Islamic legal thought with scientific and technological research, Ulul Albab seeks to produce knowledge that is not only academically rigorous but also transformative, visionary, and beneficial to future generations.

JUA received accreditation from the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education on 26 September 2019, under accreditation number 28/E/KTP/2019. To enhance the quality of the journal, both in terms of article content and governance, Ulul Albab entered into a collaboration with the Indonesian Islamic Family Lecturer Association (ADHKI) on 28 November 2019.

In the latest edition, Ulul Albab has implemented various improvements to elevate journal accreditation standards. These include an increase in the number of editors from various countries and institutions, the adoption of reference managers for citations and references, a policy whereby each article is reviewed by two reviewers, and a change in templates to standard A4 paper size. In response to the high volume of article submissions, Ulul Albab has also increased the number of published articles to eight.
