Abstract

This study aims to compare the differences in Higher Order Thinking Skills content in questions found in Indonesian mathematics textbooks and United States mathematics textbooks. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study research design. The subjects of this study are two textbooks used in Indonesia and the United States at the high school level in accordance with the applicable curriculum. The instrument used was a table designed to categorize questions based on Higher Order Thinking Skills sub-indicators. The results of the research and data analysis showed that the percentage of Higher Order Thinking Skills questions differed significantly. with the United States mathematics textbook at 92.31% (288 Higher Order Thinking Skills questions out of a total of 312 questions) and the Indonesian textbook at 74.83% (107 questions out of a total of 143 questions). Several differences were found in the structure of the questions related to the integration of digital media.
