FOCUS AND SCOPE
Insight on Educational Mathematics is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Master of Mathematics Education, Universitas Islam Sultan Agung. This journal is established for the dissemination of state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of mathematics education. The journal seeks to reflect the variety of research concerns within this field and the range of methods used to study them.
The journal focuses on methodological, didactical, and socio-cultural aspects of teaching and learning mathematics rather than on specific mathematics teaching programs alone. All research approaches are welcome, with an emphasis on high-quality articles of more than local or national significance.
The focus and scope of Insight on Educational Mathematics include, but are not limited to, the following topics:
- Realistic Mathematics Education (RME)
- Design/Development Research in Mathematics Education
- Mathematics Ability: Mathematical Reasoning, Problem Solving, Communication, and Representation
- PISA and TIMSS Tasks in Mathematics Education
- ICT Integration and Technology-Based Mathematics Learning
- Mathematics Teachers' Professional Development
- Curriculum Development, Instruction, and Assessment in Mathematics Education
- Ethnomathematics and Socio-Cultural Dimensions of Mathematics Learning
- Developmental and Educational Psychology in Mathematics Learning Contexts
The journal does not accept submissions that solely report specific mathematics teaching programs without theoretical contribution, or manuscripts that are purely mathematical or psychological in nature without clear relevance to mathematics education. Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate originality, rigorous methodology, and significant scholarly contribution to the field. Types of manuscripts accepted:
- Original Research Articles : Reporting empirical studies not previously published.
- Review Articles : Systematic and critical assessments synthesizing evidence from multiple sources.
- Short Communications : Concise reports on new findings or preliminary results of broad interest.
- Theoretical/Conceptual Articles : Articles that advance theoretical frameworks in mathematics education
