STRATEGIC CONTROL and FINANCIAL CONTROL EMPHASIS IN BUSINESS STRATEGY TO ACHIEVE TASK PERFORMANCE AT TANJUNG JATI B PLTU
Abstract
Abstract. Strategic management research is designed to increase literacy related to the limitations of the role of control in the business strategy model applied in an organization. The case example is applied in PLTU Tanjung Jati B which is an organization consisting of Asset Owner (PT CJP), Asset Manager (PT PLN UIK Tanjung Jati B) and Asset Operator (PT TJBPS, PT KPJB, PT AGP). PT PLN UIK Tanjung Jati B must choose the most appropriate type of control (strategic control and financial control) to obtain the highest task performance. This research is an explanatory research with respondents aimed at the managerial level of each Asset Owner entity (PT CJP), Asset Manager (PT PLN UIK Tanjung Jati B) and Asset Operator (PT TJBPS, PT KPJB, PT AGP totaling 88 people. The questionnaire answers at the managerial level of positions which are personnel who act as decision makers and decision-making supporters are expected to be able to describe how the role of control is implemented at the Tanjung Jati B PLTU. The results of hypothesis testing using smart PLS show that the implementation of business strategy does not have a direct effect on the task performance of PLTU Tanjung Jati B, but through the role of control (strategic control and financial control), the implementation of business strategy has a significant positive impact on task performance. The results of further research show that in order to obtain optimal task performance, management in all PLTU Tanjung Jati B entities implements greater strategic control than financial control.
