Authorship Criteria Guidelines – JURNAL AKTA
1. Qualification for Authorship
JURNAL AKTA strictly adheres to international standards for academic integrity and ethical publishing. To qualify for authorship of a manuscript submitted to JURNAL AKTA, all listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the work.
Every listed author must satisfy all four (4) of the following criteria:
Substantial Intellectual Contribution: Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data/legal materials.
Drafting and Revising: Drafting the manuscript or revising it critically for important intellectual content (e.g., legal analysis, statutory interpretation, or comparative frameworks).
Final Approval: Final approval of the version to be published.
Accountability: Agreement to be accountable for all aspects of the work in ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work are appropriately investigated and resolved.
2. Contributorship & Non-Author Acknowledgments
Individuals who contributed to the study or manuscript preparation but do not meet all four criteria above must not be listed as authors. Instead, they should be acknowledged in an "Acknowledgments" section at the end of the article (subject to their written permission).
Examples of contributions that do not qualify for authorship include:
General supervision or administrative management of the research group or institution.
Provision of financial support, office space, or equipment.
Proofreading, language editing, formatting, or preliminary literature collection without analytical contribution.
3. Corresponding Author Responsibilities
The Corresponding Author is the primary liaison between the authors and the journal editorial office during the submission, peer-review, and publication process.
The Corresponding Author is responsible for:
Ensuring that all listed authors meet the authorship criteria and that no eligible contributors have been omitted ("ghost authorship").
Ensuring that no individuals are included who do not qualify or have not consented ("gift" or "guest authorship").
Providing the correct contact information, ORCID IDs, and institutional affiliations for all co-authors upon submission.
Managing communication regarding revisions, copyright agreements, proofreading, and final publication approvals.
4. Author Order
The sequence of authors should be a joint decision of all co-authors prior to manuscript submission. The order should reflect the relative scientific and analytical contribution of each individual to the paper. Any change to the authorship list (addition, deletion, or reordering of authors) after submission must be approved in writing by all listed authors, including those being added or removed, and submitted with a clear justification to the Editor-in-Chief.
5. Unethical Authorship Practices
JURNAL AKTA strictly prohibits unacceptable authorship practices:
Ghost Authorship: Omitting individuals who made significant intellectual contributions.
Gift / Guest Authorship: Including individuals who made no significant contribution to the manuscript (e.g., senior faculty or department heads listed solely due to status).
AI-Generated Authorship: Artificial Intelligence tools (such as ChatGPT or Large Language Models) cannot be listed as an author or co-author. AI tools do not meet the criteria for legal responsibility or accountability. Any use of AI in research, analysis, or text editing must be explicitly declared in the methods or acknowledgments section.
