Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Person–Job Fit and Training on Employee Performance with Human Resource Competence as a mediating variable at RSUD dr. Gondo Suwarno. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method involving 133 respondents. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that Person–Job Fit has a positive and significant effect on Human Resource Competence. Training also has a positive and significant effect on Human Resource Competence. Human Resource Competence has a highly significant effect on Employee Performance. However, Person–Job Fit does not directly affect Employee Performance but is fully mediated by Human Resource Competence. These findings suggest that improving employee performance in public hospitals is not solely determined by job suitability but primarily by competence developed through appropriate placement systems and training programs. Competence plays a key role in enhancing employee performance within regional public hospitals.
