The Role of Leadership Style in Increasing Sustainable Commitment and Performance of Waste Management Human Resources at the Environmental Service of West Kotawaringin Regency

Abstract


Abstract. The importance of waste management in the Kotawaringin Barat Regency area requires the Regional Government, especially the Environmental Service, to ensure an increase in the performance of waste management, especially the improvement of Human Resources. One of the influencing factors is leadership style and ongoing commitment. The purpose of this study is to explain and analyze how leadership style and ongoing commitment affect the performance of human resources and how leadership style affects the ongoing commitment of waste management officers. This study uses a quantitative method (Explanatory research). The population of this study were waste management officers at the Kotawaringin Barat Regency Environmental Service. Sampling used Probability Sampling with a cluster random sampling method. The sample in this study amounted to 175 samples and all the results of the sample questionnaires could be processed. The data analysis technique used in this study is statistical analysis of data using the PLS-SEM method. The results of this study indicate that leadership style and ongoing commitment have a positive and significant effect on human resource performance. Furthermore, leadership style has a positive and significant effect on ongoing commitment.
