Author Guidelines

The editors of IJIBE (International Journal of Islamic Business Ethics) welcome article submissions in accordance with the following guidelines:

Format, Language and Article Length
Articles should be written in English using academic language along with standard academic writing structure and composition. Author for whom English is not their native language are encouraged to have their paper checked before submission for grammar and clarity The articles typed 1.15 spaced in a quarto paper size (A4) and in Times New Roman font 12pt, between 3000 – 6000 words including abstract, references, pictures, and tables. The page margins is 2.5 cm all around.  

Title Page
Article Title
The title should represent the contents of the article and no more than 20 words. The title should not include abbreviations or acronyms. It is better to use a title which has characteristic, in the other words, the article title is different from other or unique.

Author’s name and Affiliations
The author should include his/her affiliation, as well as his/hers co-author’s affiliation (if any) which consist of the full name of each author, the affiliation of each author at the time the research was completed and the affiliation address for each author including email addresses.

Abstract is the review and summary of the research. It includes the purpose of the research, methods, findings, and value. The abstract should be relatively non=technical, yet clear enough so that the reader understand the manuscript’s contribution. The abstract should be no more than 250 words.

The keywords should not include abbreviations or acronyms which consist of 3 - 6 keywords and reflect what is essential about the article. 

Main Article
Introduction should explain about the purpose of the research and the reason of conducting the research. The article should be started with more details about the paper’s purpose, motivation, research methods and findings. It should be clear enough so the reader’s understand the manuscript’s contribution. 

Literature Review
The author discusses about the purpose of a literature review.

This section should explain about the methods of the research. It is typically explain about sampling (a description of the target population, the research context, and units of analysis; sampling; and respondents’ profiles); data collection; and measures (alternatively: measurement).

The author explains the result of the research in detail, so that the reader can see the analysis in order to justify the conclusions. The results of the research should be compared, contrasted, and disputed. 

Discussion is the place to explain the result of the research. In discussion it covers: the main purpose of the research, the contribution of the research, the summarize of research hypothesis, linking the research result with the literature and results by other research, also discuss insightful such as opportunities for future research.

Conclusion is not the summary of the research, a conclusion may cover the main points of the paper, but do not replicate the abstract in the conclusion. It also should provide a new theory either in form of formula, rules, and so on. The author also need to provide the limitation in order to provide the answer to the question: Is this a problem caused by an error, or in the method selected, or the validity, or otherwise?

In writing the article, the author is suggested to use reference management tools (example: Mendeley or EndNote). The reference and citation use 6th Edition APA Style. The references should contain for at least 15 references, from the last 10 year and most of the references are dominated by scientific journals.


Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission file is in Microsoft Word document file format with margin of 2.5 all around. The type of font is Times New Roman, font size 12, and 1.15 spaced.
  2. The abstract is typed with Times New Roman, font size is 10 and single spaced together with the keywords (about 3 to 6 words) afterwards.
  3. Follow the author guidelines and the template of IJIBE.
  4. Reference list format is based on APA (American Psychological Association) style.
  5. The amount of references are at least 15 sources, from the last 10 year and dominated by scientific journals.
  6. The article has not been published or accepted for any publication or are being considered for publication elsewhere, original and does not contain any elements of plagiarism. A written statement on article's originality will be attached in the Supplementary FIle.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
