Shofiyyah Zahra Puspita

Abstract

A notary is a public official who makes authentic deeds, which must be protected and guaranteed to be true, because in principle, authentic deeds are used as legal written evidence. Therefore, a notary must protect the products they make from irresponsible individuals. One application that not many notaries use is the application of barcodes to authentic deeds as a means of document security. This study aims to analyze the steps taken by notaries in applying barcodes to authentic deeds as a means of document security and to examine the position of copies of notarial deeds in relation to the use of barcodes as a means of document security. This research uses a normative juridical approach with a case study approach and analysis of applicable laws and regulations, particularly in the application of the Notary Public Law Number 2 of 2014. The data obtained uses literature studies obtained from secondary data on legal readings and documents related to the reading of this scientific work. The results of this study indicate that many deeds can still be manipulated by irresponsible parties. Therefore, the Notary's step in creating barcodes as a means of document security is used as one of the Notary's implementations of the principle of prudence in carrying out their profession. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the understanding regarding the Notary's steps in applying barcodes to their deeds to avoid legal consequences in the future.
