Law Enforcement by the Police Against Online Gambling Crimes

Abstract


The aim of this research is to examine and analyze the Police's methods in enforcing the law on online gambling crimes. In this writing the author uses a normative juridical method with research specifications in the form of descriptive analysis. Internet control in Indonesia must be greatly improved because there are still many online gambling sites roaming the internet, especially in Indonesia. The Ministry of Communication and Information must take quick action with the help of the Police by blocking online gambling sites. The Police's repressive method in eradicating online gambling is an effort or action to deter criminals and prevent them from committing crimes again. In the Police's repressive efforts against suspects of online gambling crimes, investigators conducted digital forensics on digital evidence at the National Police Laboratory, to examine evidence that had been confiscated by investigators. Forensics is an activity to carry out investigations and determine facts related to criminal acts and other legal issues.
