Abstract

University students often face difficulties in making career choices, which are closely linked to low levels of career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE). Such a condition can lead to increased psychological pressure and uncertainty in determining their career paths. This study aims to examine the relationship between career goal discrepancy and resilience with CDMSE. The sample of this study consisted of 235 students from the Faculty of Psychology at Ahmad Dahlan University, Class of 2022. This research using quantitative methods with cluster random sampling techniques. Data were collected using the Career Goal Discrepancy Scale (CGDS) (α = 0.902), the Resilience Scale (α = 0.892), and the Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDMSES) (α = 0.928). Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression analysis. The analysis results indicated that career goal discrepancy and resilience are related to CDMSE (R = 0.559; p = 0.000 < 0.01) with an effective contribution of 31.2% (R² = 0.312). Partially, career goal discrepancy is negatively related to CDMSE (r = -0,406; p = 0,001 < 0,01). Meanwhile, the resilience variable is positively related to CDMSE (r = 0,524; p = 0,000 < 0.01). This study highlights the relationship between career goal discrepancy and resilience with CDMSE.
