Abstract

Background: Heat-cured acrylic resin is widely used for denture bases due to its affordability and acceptable aesthetics, but its mechanical properties remain inadequate. Corn husk powder represents a potential natural filler reinforcement. Method: This laboratory study integrated findings from three experiments using a post-test-only control design to evaluate flexural, compressive, and impact strength of heat-cured acrylic resin reinforced with corn husk powder. Result: Adding corn husk powder significantly improved all three mechanical properties compared to the control (p<0.05).
