Legal Protection for Child Victims of Trafficking in Indonesian Legislation

Abstract

The increasing number of child trafficking cases in Indonesia is very worrying for the nation's future generations. Children's lives are a reflection of the nation's future, and they are a reflection of the nation and state. However, objectively, what is happening to children in Indonesia is that the problem is still not resolved and tolerated by common sense. This paper aims to provide a policy for protecting child trafficking victims within existing regulations in Indonesia. This research uses a normative legal approach and a descriptive research type. The data types and sources use secondary data in the form of primary legal materials, secondary legal materials, and tertiary legal data. The data collection method uses literature and qualitative analysis methods. The research results show that existing laws and regulations in Indonesia are less effective in imposing sanctions on perpetrators and there is no safe protection for victims of trafficking, especially children.
