Edukasi Jenis Pemeriksaan Laboratorium dalam Mendiagnosis COVID-19
Abstract
Diagnosis dini dan akurat infeksi SARS-CoV-2 sangat penting untuk pencegahan dan pengendalian pandemi. Heterogenitas presentasi klinis, dari individu tanpa gejala hingga kasus yang parah, dan keragaman yang relevan dari manifestasi klinis non-spesifik COVID-19, memperkuat kebutuhan akan tes komplementer dengan sensitivitas dan spesifisitas yang baik. Hasil tes diagnostik memiliki implikasi serius, yaitu kemungkinan kontaminasi anggota keluarga. Pemeriksaan laboratorium COVID-19 yang tersedia saat ini yaitu tes antigen dan PCR. Pada kondisi pandemi, setiap orang memiliki kemungkinan telah melakukan setidaknya satu tes COVID-19. Namun tidak banyak masyarakat umum yang mengetahui jenis tes yang dilakukan, kekuatan, dan kelemahan dari tes yang bermacam-macam ini. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menambah pengetahuan para warga desa sehingga dapat menerapkan protokol kesehatan dengan benar sebagai upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian pandemi. Edukasi dilakukan pada kelompok usia dewasa hingga lansia masyarakat di Desa Sambiroto Semarang. Penyampaian materi edukasi meliputi jenis pemeriksaan laboratorium untuk mendiagnosis COVID-19. Adanya kegiatan edukasi ini membuat peserta memiliki tambahan pengetahuan terkait jenis pemeriksaan laboratorium dalam mendiagnosis COVID-19. Berdasarkan hasil kegiatan disimpulkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta terkait dengan jenis pemeriksaan laboratorium untuk mendiagnosis COVID-19.
Early and accurate diagnosis of SARS-COV-2 infection is essential for pandemic prevention and control. Heterogeneity of clinical presentations, from individual symptoms to severe cases, and the relevant diversity of non-specific clinical manifestations of COVID-19, strengthening the need for complementary tests with good sensitivity and specificity. Diagnostic test results have serious implications, that is the possibility of family members contamination. COVID-19 laboratory examination available today is an antigen and PCR test. In the pandemic conditions, everyone has the possibility of having done at least one COVID-19 test. But not many common people know the type of tests, the strengths, and weaknesses of this assassination test. These community service activities aim to add to the knowledge of villagers to apply the health protocol properly as a pandemic prevention and control. Education is performed in an adult age group to the elderly of society in the village of Sambiroto Semarang. The delivery of educational materials includes a type of laboratory examination to diagnose COVID-19. The existence of this educational activity makes the participants have additional knowledge related to the type of laboratory examination in diagnosing COVID-19. Based on the results of the activity, there is an increase in the knowledge and understanding of participants related to the type of laboratory examination to diagnose COVID-19.
