Abstract

Abstract

Milk al-yamin is one of the terms used in Islam for a group of people who are in the authority of Muslims. More clearly they are called slaves or servants who are demanded and obedient by the orders and wishes of their masters. The emergence of the term milk al-yamin is caused by two reasons, namely kufr and war. Therefore, nothing in Islamic literature mentions the term milk al-yamin except for these two causes. The purpose of this research is to re-align milk definition of yamin and explain its position in Islam which is currently being rolled out by some thinkers in the context of protecting human rights. In the Prophet's hadith, milk al-yamin has several rights including: 1) a protected group 2) a group that must be fulfilled its basic needs 3) milk al-yamin is the brother of its master 4) milk al-yamin has the right to be called by a calling good and dignified 5) prohibited from injuring members of the body of milk al-yamin 6) milk al-yamin has the right to independence if a part of him has been freed by some of his masters 7) milk al-yamin has the right of independence if his master is from his own family.
