The Impact of Simultaneous Elections on Presidential Systems in Indonesia

Abstract


Indonesia for the first time held a simultaneous election. This election is different from the previous election. Although simultaneous elections are different from the previous elections, the simultaneous elections turned out to be equally relevant to the presidential government system in Indonesia. The relevance can be seen from the historical aspects of the previous election. That is because simultaneous elections are substantially the same as the previous elections. The difference only lies in the simultaneous Election mechanism. However, simultaneous elections must also be assessed whether it has an impact on strengthening the presidential government system in Indonesia. This paper reviews the relevance of simultaneous elections to the presidential government system in Indonesia. In addition, this article also discusses the impact of simultaneous elections on strengthening the presidential government system in Indonesia.
