JACEE (Journal of Advanced Civil and Environmental Engineering) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. We strictly prohibit any form of plagiarism, data falsification, or academic misconduct. By submitting a manuscript to JACEE, authors explicitly certify that the work is entirely original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not currently under consideration for publication by another journal.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism encompasses, but is not limited to:
- Copying or paraphrasing substantial portions of text from other sources without proper acknowledgement and citation.
- Using someone else's data, figures, tables, or research ideas without explicit permission and attribution.
- Self-Plagiarism: Reusing significant portions of an author's own previously published work without proper cross-referencing or citation (duplicate publication).
2. Screening and Detection
To protect the originality of published research, all manuscripts submitted to JACEE undergo a rigorous screening process:
- Every incoming manuscript is checked for potential text overlap using reliable anti-plagiarism detection software (such as Turnitin or Plagiarism Checker X).
- JACEE maintains a strict threshold: manuscripts must have an overall similarity index of less than 20%, with individual source matches kept to a minimal percentage (typically under 3%).
3. Handling Procedures & Consequences
If plagiarism or academic misconduct is identified at any stage of the peer-review or publication process, JACEE enforces the following strict actions:
- During Review: If plagiarism is detected during the initial screening or review phase, the manuscript will be immediately rejected, and the author(s) will be notified.
- Post-Publication: If plagiarism is discovered after publication, an investigation will be launched. Depending on the severity of the case, JACEE reserves the right to issue a Correction, a Retraction Notice attached to the article, or notify the authors' academic institution/employer.
- Future Submissions: Authors found guilty of deliberate plagiarism may be barred from submitting future manuscripts to JACEE.
4. Author Responsibilities
Authors are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy and originality of their content. Authors must properly cite all sources, quotes, and data utilized in their research. If a manuscript contains translated text or previously published figures, explicit permission must be secured from the copyright holder and clearly indicated in the text.
