Patients in the ICU often use assistive devices such as ventilators, catheters, infusions, and others. Conditions like this can trigger the emergence of biofilms. The presence of biofilms causes bacteria to be resistant to antibiotics. Some bacteria that cause infections in intensive care are mostly multidrug resistant (MDR) and biofilm producers. This causes difficulties in patient management. Data on the biofilm profile of bacteria that cause infections in the ICU is not widely known. These data may be crucial epidemiological information for patient care. Finding out the profile of bacterial biofilms in patients with sepsis, pneumonia, UTIs, and ulcers in the intensive care unit is the goal of this study. At Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital in Semarang, this cross-sectional descriptive study was carried out between June and September 2023. Bacterial biofilm test on sputum, urine, wound swabs, and blood isolates using the microtiter plate test method in patients treated in the intensive care unit of Sultan Agung Islamic Hospital, Semarang. All bacteria detected in this study were biofilm producers. The bacteria detected were mostly gram-negative. K. pneumoniae was the most frequently detected and biofilm-producing bacteria in ICU patients. On the other hand, P. aeruginosa was the most strongly bound biofilm-producing bacteria (n = 17; 100%). In this study, the majority of biofilm-producing bacteria detected were gram-negative bacteria.
