Abstract

Motorcycle theft is a type of crime against property that often occurs in society and causes impacts in the form of material losses and disruption of public security. Therefore, efforts to overcome motorcycle theft crimes in the jurisdiction of the Kota Baru Jambi Police need to be implemented comprehensively, integrated, and continuously through preventive, preemptive, and repressive measures to create security, order, and legal certainty for the community. The research method used is a sociological juridical research method with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews with police officers, field observations, and documentation and literature studies related to handling motor vehicle theft crimes. This study aims to determine and analyze the implementation of police functions in handling motor vehicle theft cases in the jurisdiction of the Kota Baru Jambi Police, to determine and analyze the factors that become obstacles and solutions in the implementation of police functions in handling motor vehicle theft cases in the jurisdiction of the Kota Baru Jambi Police.
