OPTIMIZATION OF DIVERSION IN CHILD CRIME IN GUNUNG KIJANG POLICE

Nyoman Ananta Mahendra

Abstract

Juvenile crime is a legal phenomenon that has its own complexity in handling. This is because legal handling of children cannot be the same as that of adults. In their development, children are parties whose interests are vulnerable to being violated and are individuals who are not yet able to protect themselves and fight for their rights, so the law must strictly regulate the protection of children. In terms of victimology, children as perpetrators of criminal acts are actually also victims because a child may not be able to commit a criminal act if there are no external factors that encourage the child to commit a criminal act.
