Effectiveness of the Implementation of Public Information Dispute Resolution at the Aceh Information Commission

Abstract


Public information dispute resolution has a central role in ensuring better access to information for the public and safeguarding the principle of government transparency. This research examines the effectiveness of implementing public information dispute resolution at the Aceh Information Commission. The aim of this research is to find out and analyze how the implementation of public information dispute resolution at the Aceh Information Commission and to find out and analyze how effective the implementation of public information dispute resolution at the Aceh Information Commission will be in the future. The research method used is analytical descriptive legal research, which can be interpreted as getting a direct, clear and systematic picture of the facts regarding the problem being studied in full. The approach method in this thesis research is to use a sociological juridical approach. The research results show that although the Aceh Information Commission has an important role in handling public information disputes, there are still several obstacles that affect its effectiveness. Factors such as limited resources, facilities and infrastructure, budget limitations, and the level of public awareness regarding the right to access information, all play a role in determining the outcome of dispute resolution. This research contributes by providing in-depth insight into the challenges faced by the Aceh Information Commission in carrying out its duties and providing recommendations for improvement. In order to increase the effectiveness of resolving public information disputes, efforts need to be made to increase public awareness about the right to access information, strengthen the capacity of the Aceh Information Commission, and revise regulations relating to the dispute resolution process. In this way, it is hoped that access to public information can be better guaranteed and the principle of government transparency can be better realized in Aceh.
