BODY IMAGE PADA REMAJA PUTRI YANG MENGGUNAKAN MEDIA SOSIAL TIKTOK

Abstract


Body image merupakan gambaran tubuh yang dibentuk dalam pikiran, yaitu cara tubuh menampakkan diri kepada diri kita. Salah satu faktor yang memengaruhi berkembangnya body image pada remaja adalah media sosial TikTok. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) mengetahui bagaimana body image pada remaja putri yang menggunakan media sosial TikTok, 2) mengetahui proses apa yang remaja putri yakini merusak atau mendukung body image mereka, dan 3) mengetahui strategi yang digunakan oleh remaja putri dalam mengelola body image mereka. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah model Miles and Huberman dengan bantuan MAXQDA. Teknik pemantapan kredibilitas penelitian yang digunakan peneliti adalah member check yang dilakukan setelah berakhirnya pengumpulan data. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa remaja awal putri yang menggunakan media sosial TikTok memiliki body image negatif. Durasi penggunaan membuat remaja terpapar konten tubuh ideal membuat remaja menginternalisasi tubuh ideal tersebut ke dalam dirinya, akibatnya terjadi ketidakpuasan tubuh karena adanya perbandingan ke atas. Pengelolaan body image yang dilakukan adalah mencoba menerima diri melalui bersyukur, akan tetapi masih ada kecemasan dalam diri remaja untuk berani tampil di TikTok.
