PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY OF PANTS PRODUCTS IN UD. Lucky Jeans USING THE METHOD Risk Assessment and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA)

Abstract


ABSTRACT

UD. Lucky Jeans is a home industry company engaged in fashion, this home industry was established in 2000, located in Bulak Village RT05 / RW01, Rowosari District, Kendal Regency, Central Java. Which was founded directly by Mr. Subari as the owner of the home industry itself. The products produced from UD Lucky Jeans are soft pants, or commonly called chinos. The products of the pants produced by UD Lucky Jeans are not only sold in their own stores, but are also marketed in several markets in Yogyakarta, one of which is in the Yogyakarta religious market. The effort made by UD Lucky Jeans to satisfy customer demand is to provide the best quality for its customers by trying to continue to make improvements. So to be able to satisfy its customers UD Lucky Jeans tightened quality control in the production process. The control that has been carried out by UD Lucky Jeans experienced several obstacles in the production process section, which resulted in the failure rate of the product so far that it still exceeded the tolerance limits set by UD Lucky Jeans. The failure tolerance limit is set at 5% of 100% of production, or 5 units of 100 units of production, while the failure that occurred during February - April 2019 was 17.3%, or from 300 dozen total disability production reached 52 dozen. the biggest example of disability is in the process of sewing and the cutting process with the failure mode of stitching jumping and cutting too tight. has a RPN value of 384 in the sewing process and 96 in the cutting process. After a trial to improve disability rates fell, trials were carried out in December 2019-January 2020 as many as 200 dozen and disability occurred only by 9 dozen or 4.5% and the RPN value could drop to 72 in the sewing process and 32 in the cutting process.
