Protection of Children as Victims of the Criminal Act of Human Trafficking from a Human Rights Perspective

Abstract

Human trafficking is a form of transnational crime that has serious impacts on human rights, particularly for children as a vulnerable group. Child victims of human trafficking not only experience economic and sexual exploitation but also lose their basic rights guaranteed by the constitution, international human rights instruments, and national laws and regulations. Protection of children as victims of the criminal act of human trafficking from a human rights perspective must position child victims of human trafficking as subjects who are entitled to receive comprehensive protection, recovery, and fulfillment of rights to ensure the best interests of the child.
