Effectiveness of Law in Combating Cyberbullying Criminal Acts Against Children

Abstract

Cyberbullying against children is a form of cybercrime that is increasing with the development of information technology and social media. This article aims to analyze the effectiveness of the law in addressing cyberbullying against children in Indonesia. The method used is normative legal research with a statutory and conceptual approach. The results of the study indicate that the regulation of cyberbullying in the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) does not specifically and comprehensively regulate the protection of children as victims. Furthermore, law enforcement still faces various obstacles, such as limited legal norms, difficulties in identifying perpetrators, and obstacles in digital evidence. Therefore, strengthening regulations and more effective law enforcement are needed to provide optimal protection for children from cyberbullying.
