Policy Directions For Social Control Of Crime In The Digital Era

Slamet Riyono

Abstract

The development of digital society has become an inevitable social reality, giving birth to new relationship patterns and new adaptations that lead to social change in society. This also has implications for efforts to create social order in society. For this reason, social crime control policies will also "grow" and "adapt" to social changes that often occur in society.  The writing in this article focuses on reviewing the social control of crime contextualized in the momentum of the 21st century, especially the current digital era. This article is based on library research by exploring various library sources in the form of textbooks and journal articles that are relevant to the thematic study of social control policies in the digital era. The results of the study show that social control policies for crime will continue to develop in line with the various 'complexities' that continue to emerge as a consequence of living in society. Efforts to reconfigure social crime control policies, both by formal and informal agents, will continue to grow along with the massive use of various technological tools.
