Abstract

Teenage skin health issues, such as acne and oily skin, are often influenced by a lack of knowledge about proper skincare. The interactive counseling program "Healthy Skin, Maximum Confidence" aims to enhance adolescents' understanding and habits of healthy skincare. This program employs an interactive educational method, including presentations, group discussions, and Q&A sessions. Respondents were selected using purposive sampling, totaling 25 participants aged 12–18 years. Evaluation was conducted through pre-tests and post-tests, as well as participant satisfaction surveys. The results showed a significant increase in participants' understanding of the causes of skin problems (30%), proper skincare methods (34%), the use of safe skincare products (36%), and the importance of sunscreen (40%). A total of 85% of participants found the counseling beneficial, and 78% began adopting better skincare habits. Interactive counseling proved to be more effective than conventional methods in improving skincare literacy. The implications of this study highlight the need for developing similar programs with a broader reach, including the use of digital media to engage more adolescents. Long-term evaluation is also necessary to assess the sustainability of behavioral changes. This program is expected to serve as an effective educational model for increasing awareness of skin health and boosting teenagers' self-confidence.
