Edukasi dan Simulasi untuk Mencegah Carpal Tunnel Syndrome pada Komunitas Ibu-Ibu PKK di Kelurahan Polehan Kota Malang
Abstract
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome atau biasa disebut dengan CTS merupakan salah satu kasus yang sering terjadi pada perempuan dibandingkan dengan laki-laki. CTS terjadi karena kompresi saraf median yang berada di pergelangan tangan. Gejala yang sering terjadi adalah nyeri, kesemutan, dan mati rasa pada jari-jari. Program ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman, pengetahuan, dan upaya pencegahan pada Carpal Tunnel Syndrome bersama ibu-ibu PKK RT 9 RW 1 Polehan, Kota Malang. Metode yang dilakukan berupa edukasi dan simulasi yang dilakukan pada tanggal 17 Oktober 2024 secara luring dengan menggunakan media promosi kesehatan berupa poster, kemudian dilakukan sesi tanya jawab bersama peserta. Sebelum memulai pelaksanaan edukasi dan simulasi latihan, dilakukan pre-test untuk mengetahui apakah ibu-ibu PKK memahami materi yang disampaikan. Setelah penyampaian materi dilakukan evaluasi melalui post-test. Hasilnya, Kegiatan ini dihadiri 25 orang dengan hasil pre-test 0 poin (0%) dan post-test rata-rata sudah memahami materi yang disampaikan dengan hasil 100 poin (100%). Kesimpulannya, edukasi dan simulasi latihan mengenai Carpal Tunnel Syndrome terlaksana dengan baik dan telah memenuhi target. Diharapkan peserta yang hadir dapat menerapkan terapi latihan yang telah disampaikan apabila terdapat gejala CTS.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome commonly called CTS, is one of the cases that often occurs in women compared to men. CTS occurs due to compression of the median nerve in the wrist. Common symptoms are pain, tingling, and numbness in the fingers. The program aims to improve understanding, knowledge, and prevention about Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in Ibu-Ibu PKK RT 9 RW 1 Polehan, Malang City. Education and simulation of exercise were carried out offline on October 17, 2024 using health promotion media in the form of posters, and then a question-answer session was held with the participants. Before starting the implementation of education and simulation exercise, a pre-test was conducted to determine whether the ibu-ibu PKK understood the material presented. After the delivery of the material, an evaluation was carried out through a post-test. The result shows that this activity was attended by 25 people, with a pre-test result of 0 points (0%) and an average post-test result of 100 points (100%) showing that they understood the material presented. In conclusion, education and simulation exercise regarding Carpal Tunnel Syndrome were carried out well and have met the target. It is expected that participants who attend can apply the exercise therapy that has been delivered if there are symptoms of CTS.
