The Role of Spiritual Leadership: Organizational Culture Towards Innovative Work Behavior

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture and spiritual leadership on employees' innovative work behavior, as well as to examine the role of spiritual leadership as a moderating variable in the relationship between organizational culture and innovative work behavior. This study was conducted on organic employees of the Money Management Department, Bank Indonesia with a total of 146 respondents, using a quantitative approach and Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) analysis techniques. The results of the study indicate that organizational culture has a significant positive effect on innovative work behavior. Further findings indicate that spiritual leadership does not have a direct significant effect on innovative work behavior. Nevertheless, spiritual leadership plays an important role as a moderating variable that strengthens the influence of organizational culture on innovative work behavior. Spiritual values such as integrity, exemplary behavior, and sincerity have been shown to increase the effectiveness of organizational culture in encouraging employee innovative behavior.
