The Influence of Transactional Leadership Style and Extrinsic Motivation on Human Resource Performance, with Continuance Commitment as an Intervening Variable for Outsourced Employees Pln ULP Bangkir

Abstract


This study aims to analyze the influence of transactional leadership style and extrinsic motivation on human resource performance with ongoing commitment as an intervening variable on outsourcing employees of PLN ULP Bangkir. This study uses a quantitative approach with Partial Least Square (PLS) analysis techniques. The sample consisted of 170 outsourcing employees. The results of the study indicate that transactional leadership style and extrinsic motivation have a significant positive effect on ongoing commitment and human resource performance. In addition, ongoing commitment also has a positive effect on employee performance. This means that both independent variables not only have a direct effect, but also an indirect effect through ongoing commitment as a mediator. This study provides practical implications for management in managing outsourcing employees through appropriate leadership strategies and consistent provision of external incentives.
