Review Process
Global Elementary Education (GEE) applies a rigorous peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, relevance, and academic integrity of every manuscript submitted for publication. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment and a double-blind peer review process.
1. Review Policy
GEE uses a double-blind peer review system in which the identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential throughout the review process. Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two independent reviewers who have relevant expertise in the subject area of the submitted manuscript.
2. Review Process
Step 1. Initial Editorial Screening
The editor checks the submitted manuscript for compliance with the journal's focus and scope, author guidelines, writing format, completeness, and basic publication ethics requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's requirements may be returned to the authors or rejected before peer review.
Step 2. Reviewer Assignment
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two qualified reviewers based on their academic expertise and research interests. Reviewers are selected to ensure an objective and relevant assessment.
Step 3. Peer Review Evaluation
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on its originality, relevance, theoretical foundation, research methodology, presentation of findings, discussion, conclusions, references, and overall contribution to elementary education. Reviewers provide constructive comments and recommendations to improve the manuscript.
Step 4. Editorial Decision
The editor considers the reviewers' comments and recommendations before making a decision. The editorial decision is communicated to the corresponding author through the Open Journal Systems (OJS).
Step 5. Revision and Final Decision
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts according to the reviewers' and editor's comments, when applicable. Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation. The editor makes the final decision regarding acceptance or rejection.
3. Review Recommendations
Reviewers may provide one of the following recommendations:
- Accept Submission: The manuscript is suitable for publication without major revisions.
- Minor Revision: The manuscript requires limited revisions to improve clarity, accuracy, or presentation.
- Major Revision: The manuscript requires substantial revisions and may need further evaluation.
- Reject Submission: The manuscript does not meet the journal's standards or is not suitable for publication.
The final publication decision rests with the editor, taking into consideration the reviewers' recommendations and the journal's editorial policies.
4. Review Timeline
The peer review process is conducted as efficiently as possible. The review period may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, and the time required for author revisions. Authors can monitor the progress of their submissions through the OJS platform.
5. Confidentiality and Ethical Standards
All manuscripts submitted for review are treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not disclose, distribute, or use unpublished information from submitted manuscripts for personal or professional purposes. Reviewers are also expected to declare any potential conflicts of interest and maintain objectivity, fairness, and academic integrity throughout the review process.
6. Author Responsibilities
Authors are expected to respond to reviewers' comments professionally and revise their manuscripts within the specified deadline. A revised manuscript should clearly indicate the changes made in response to each comment. If authors disagree with a reviewer's suggestion, they should provide a clear and reasonable academic explanation.
