LEGAL PROTECTION FOR UNCERTIFIED HALAL ON FOOD PRODUCT TO CONSUMER

Abstract


The presence of halal certification greatly influences the halal label of a food product that will cause a positive impact to increase the income up to many times. In fact, halal certificates and halal labels on a food product, ultimately, are able to draw consumer appreciation in consuming the product. Halal certification will be a score-plus, even it is a must, to the producer for the product to achieve the demand. According to the regulation about halal certificate and label in Law Number 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, Law Number 18 of 2012 on Food, and Law Number 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Guarantee that will be released in 2016, can be concluded that there is the effort of legal protection to consumer applied by institutions on uncertified halal of food product to achieve the legal certainty and protect the consumer
